For over 50 years, Clermont County Humane Society has cared for animals most in need, be it managing our local animal shelter in the early years or most recently fulfilling our mission of helping to keep pets in their homes through various ways of assistance. However, the time has come for CCHS to step aside and let other similar organizations in our community that have many more resources take the reins to help families and their pets. Effective March 15, we will be closed. To be clear, our closing in no way impacts the operation of Clermont County Animal Shelter or the animals in their care. If you are in need of assistance, visit Clermont County Animal Shelter’s website (https://clermontcountyohio.gov/clermont-county-animal-shelter/) for a list of resources to help you and your family pet. Many organizations have helped with our journey, but we would like to acknowledge our key partners: Lifetime Pet Center in New Richmond, Ohio; Country Lane Pet Resort in Moscow, Ohio; Angel Paws in Cincinnati, Ohio; and League for Animal Welfare in Batavia, Ohio. Without these organizations’ partnership and you, we could not have served our community as we did. Thank you.

Every animal deserves humane and responsible care, but for people facing financial difficulties, providing even the most basic needs can be a problem.

We're working to help pet lovers in our community properly care for the animals they love.

OUR VISION

We are dedicated to keeping pets in their homes, with the families who love them. Our goal is to connect financially challenged Clermont County pet owners with the community resources that can help them care for their animals. Because when life gets complicated, people more than ever need the unconditional love and emotional support of the pets that share their lives.

OUR HISTORY

The Clermont County Humane Society was founded in 1957, and for many wonderful decades our shelter helped countless animals in the community. In recent years, CCHS Board Members recognized the growing need to assist people struggling to provide food, medical care, and housing for their pets. So in 2015, we reorganized as a non-profit focused on providing the resources that will help keep pets in their homes with the people who love them.
